Leading up to his college decision, all signs pointed to four-star athlete CJ Sadler committing to Bill Belichick and the UNC football program.
On Friday night, Sadler made it official, becoming the 36th player from the Class of 2026 to commit to North Carolina.

This is yet another major splash made by the UNC football program on the recruiting trail. Sadler is arguably the best athlete that this graduating class has to offer, as he's now set to make his mark in Chapel Hill in just a few months.
A 5-foot-10, 185-pound athlete, Sadler is a guy who has the ability to impact the game on both sides of the football. During the 2024 season, Sadler earned MaxPreps Player of the Year honors in the state of Michigan, helping guide Cass Tech to a Division I state championship.
This is a guy who rarely leaves the field at the high school level. As a junior, Sadler recorded 51 catches for 1,043 yards and 14 touchdowns as a receiver, and added five more scores through the use of his legs in the run game.
On defense, Sadler, working primarily at cornerback, has served as a lock-down defender on the outside. He recorded 55 tackles and four interceptions, earning him the Sauce Gardner treatment from opposing teams (essentially, don't throw the football near him!).
While what he does on offense and defense is impressive, he's an elite playmaker on special teams, having recorded both a punt and kickoff return for a touchdown last season.
This dude does it ALL!
The momentum was consistently building leading up to his decision on Friday night, and it's certain to say that the UNC football program (and the fan base) are ecstatic that this recruitment played out the way it was projected to.
CJ Sadler... YOU are a Tar Heel!
