Isaiah Denis went through the transfer portal process, weighing his options ahead of his sophomore season of college basketball.

However, all signs pointed him back to Chapel Hill for another year, one that Denis is hyped up about.

Isaiah Denis' reason behind return to UNC should have fans fired up

Denis made a guest appearance on the Carolina Insider Podcast, hosted by Jones Angell and Adam Lucas. When asked about why he decided to return to North Carolina, Denis gave the absolute perfect answer that will have fans fired up to hear.

"I definitely feel like I got a lot better," Denis said. "I feel like my confidence right now is really through the roof. I'm on another level right now, and I'm just ready to get out there and let that dog out of the cage for sure. I'd say there are some areas where I feel like I'm never complacent. I feel like I could get better in every area."

For a guy who didn't see a ton of game action during his true freshman season, a year within the program at the collegiate level is one that should help him identify those areas that he believes he needs to improve upon. Denis spoke about some of the areas he's looking to build on this offseason:

"In terms of strengths and weaknesses, what I say is just getting a little bit stronger. But working with Jonas a lot, trying to get ready for that in-game contact, being physical. I feel like when I lock that part of my game and really just embrace that part, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, thrilling to see.

And then just wanna be very consistent this year. I know that was one of the things that helped me in high school when I was like climbing ranks and things of that nature was just consistency. When a coach saw me, I was gonna do the same things the same way every time. So I say consistency as well."

We've seen video clips of Denis working out this offseason, including the one above where he is putting in the work at the Dean Smith Center. This dude is motivated not only to improve but also to make his case as a key contributor for the Tar Heels this season, as fans and those around the program still hold very high hopes for him as he embarks on another year at North Carolina.
