Could UNC be emerging as a frontrunner for five star-guard Nasir Anderson?
The recent developments in his recruitment sure point that way.
Just last week, Michael Malone made not one, but two trips to Prolific Prep in Florida to check in on Anderson, the No. 10-ranked player in the Class of 2027.
Now, just a few days later, Anderson not only canceled his scheduled visit to USC this week but also moved up his previously scheduled visit to Chapel Hill.
What a coincidence!

Inside Carolina first reported that Anderson's visit, which was previously scheduled for October 30, is now happening this week. He will be on campus in Chapel Hill starting Wednesday, another sign that things may be on the verge of heating up between Anderson and the Tar Heels.
Sure, it could all just be a scheduling fit that made sense, but don't ya think it's a little suspicious when you start to connect the dots?
The Tar Heels are making a heavy push for Anderson, and Malone has made that very clear. Add elite recruiter Chuck Martin into the mix, and the duo continues to build their case in Anderson's recruitment.
Once that trip to USC was canned, UNC was ready to swoop in and re-route his plans!
Of course, UNC would've had the last say had his visit schedule remained the same. However, whose to say that Chapel Hill still might be that final stop on his tour if he heads to campus and decides that he wants to be a Tar Heel?
Let's remember: Anderson has stated in the past that he grew up a Tar Heel fan. His visit could easily sway him to make a quick decision to become the first player to commit to Michael Malone's first recruiting class at North Carolina.
As with all things in recruiting, it's important not to get too hyped up too early. Crazy things can happen on the recruiting trail, leaving fans either extremely excited or heartbroken, with no in-between.
While it's important not to get too carried away, the facts are the facts at this point. Between North Carolina's well-known interest and Anderson's plans suddenly changing after Malone made his presence felt at his high school, the tea leaves suggest Anderson may be viewing North Carolina as his preferred destination ahead of his moved-up official visit.
Now, the Tar Heels will roll out the Carolina blue carpet for Anderson and his family as they head to campus to see what Chapel Hill is all about, a trip that likely won't disappoint.
