Come Saturday night, North Carolina and Hubert Davis will be ready to host Virginia Tech, as the Hokies will no question have an upset on their minds. The Tar Heels, led in this one by Henri Veesaar and Seth Trimble, will look to make things tough on VT even if Caleb Wilson won't be in action.
UNC fans who want Hubert Davis fired were just hit with a sobering reality
On Friday night, the official injury report dropped and while there was some hope among the fanbase that Wilson would be cleared in time to play, he's been ruled out. While Wilson won't be good to go for this ACC clash, there's continued optimism that Wilson may potentially return next week, as thanks to a photo posted by the Heels honoring Seth Trimble, it looks like Wilson is out of his brace that he had on his injured left hand:

Wilson was set to undergo further imaging late this week to make sure he’s progressing as expected.

Caleb Wilson Injury: More positive clues keep coming in on his UNC return
As we've all expected from the start, the Tar Heels are not going to rush Wilson back too soon. However, recent social media posts this week hinted that Wilson indeed is getting closer to returning to the practice floor - Wilson has also revealed that he's hoping to be back for the Duke game.
Sometime early next week, the hope is that Davis will provide UNC supporters with the news they've been hoping for. However, we don't know for sure what's going to end up happening. A return on Tuesday for Senior Night against Clemson seems unlikely, but you never know.
As for Saturday's meeting with Virginia Tech, Veesaar was nowhere to be found on the injury report, which is of course great. He's been back for the past two wins over Syracuse and Louisville and he's showing no signs of discomfort from his previous injury.
Having Veesaar close to 100 percent is fantastic news for Davis and the same is going to be said once Wilson makes his long-awaited return. People still need to be a little bit patient here, but with Wilson saying goodbye to his hand brace, the feeling is we won't have to wait too much longer before he's back to putting on a show for this team.
