“Pissed off. Sad. Disappointed."
Those words could've came from anyone after the UNC basketball program's ACC Tournament quarterfinal loss to Clemson on Thursday night.
While the fan base certainly feels that way, the quote didn't come from them: it came directly from star big man Henri Veesaar.
Henri Veesaar says exactly what UNC fans needed to hear
The junior big man spoke to the media following the one-point loss, a game that North Carolina had no business being in without Veesaar's insane performance. He set new career-highs in points (28) and rebound (17) as he and Derek Dixon put on a three-point shooting display down the stretch to cut Clemson's double-digit lead down to one.

Unfortunately, the Tar Heels showed up too late, as time ran out before they could fully complete the comeback.
After the game, Veesaar was asked about the emotions behind the loss, as he spoke truthfully about how the Tar Heels let a lot of people down.

Too little, too late
Veesaar knows the Tar Heels have the ability to ramp it up when the going gets tough, something they've done on multiple occasions this season.
Unfortunately, you can't always dig yourself into a hole and expect to always find a way out of it.
This major accolade proves UNC struck gold in the transfer portal with Henri Veesaar
March is a different animal. It's win or go home. There's literally no margin for error.
Veesaar understands that, and believes his team knows the assignment at hand. There's quite a few areas that the Tar Heels need to improve upon (and quickly) if they want to keep their season alive. There's no guaranteed tomorrow, as North Carolina must find ways to channel that energy, effort and passion they show down double-digits right from the opening tip in each NCAA Tournament game they earn the right to play in.
Henri Veesaar hopes he can continue igniting his team, leading them to a few more games before the 2025-2026 season comes to a close.
