Carson Sneed... YOU are a Tar Heel!

It's official: the four-star tight end has officially flipped his commitment from Tennessee to North Carolina. The news broke on Friday afternoon, making Sneed the second commitment of the day for Bill Belichick and the UNC football program.

The speculation began when Sam Spiegelman and Chad Simmons of Rivals reversed their original predictions for Sneed, which had initially favored the Volunteers, in favor of the Tar Heels. Not long after, it became official, adding another talented skill player to the UNC football program's loaded 2026 recruiting class.

Sneed spoke to TarHeel247 about his decision to flip his commitment:

"I picked UNC for a bunch of reasons. Bill Belichick's NFL experience. He's done some great things with tight ends like Gronk in the NFL. If I'm blessed to play in the NFL at some point, I'll be prepared with the offense, the terminology, the schedule, and I believe this sets me up to be prepared for the next level."

This is another big-time addition for the UNC football program within the 2026 recruiting class. With a few four-star wide receivers already in the fold, Sneed could be the dynamic pass catcher at the tight end position that will complement the playmakers the Tar Heels will feature on the outside.

North Carolina has been putting in the work on the recruiting trail, building the foundation for the future of Carolina Football under the direction of Belichick. The Tar Heels are absolutely loading up with talent in this class, as the future looks extremely bright with this group of student-athletes set to make their way to Chapel Hill over the next few months.

Keep doubting Belichick and the UNC football program's front office staff. They'll just continue to lure in recruits and make everyone regret doubting them on the recruiting trail.
