There’s nothing quite like getting the full Chapel Hill experience for yourself; just ask Dylan Betts.
The five-star Class of 2028 big man had the opportunity to do just that, making his way to UNC for an unofficial visit as the Tar Heels continue building their relationship with the talented recruit.
While his sisters both decided to play college basketball for UCLA, another school with a shade of blue as the primary color, Dylan Betts showed that Carolina blue might be best suited for him.

On his Instagram account, Betts shared some photos from his visit, repping the iconic UNC basketball uniforms. Fans are going to absolutely love what they see from the towering big man.

Betts, a high school junior, has been busy, already making unofficial visits to campuses that pique his interest. He visited Michigan and Illinois before stopping in Chapel Hill this weekend, and he has a trip to Alabama scheduled in just a few weeks.
The fact that UNC got Betts on campus (even for an unofficial visit) shows the interest is clearly mutual.
It's safe to say Betts' recruitment will heat up even more over the next few months, especially as his stock continues to rise as he competes for IMG Academy this upcoming season. The good news is that Malone and his staff already have laid the groundwork, building a relationship with Betts that they hope to keep growing over time.
Even though the primary focus is on the 2027 class, it's never too early to start thinking about the 2028 class as well. If you wait too long, it may be too late, as coaches across the country are putting in overtime to land their favorite recruiting targets.
The competition for Betts will be steep, but landing a commitment from the 7-foot-3 center would be a huge one (both literally and figuratively) for Michael Malone and the Tar Heels' 2028 recruiting class.
