A change of scenery was good for former Tar Heel Elliot Cadeau.

After two seasons in Chapel Hill, Cadeau entered the transfer portal, ultimately committing to Dusty May and Michigan. The move has paid off, as Cadeau and the Wolverines are 31-2 and are projected to be a No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

On Saturday afternoon, Cadeau had a clutch moment for Michigan, one that showed how he's developed in terms of confidence.

Cadeau's confidence never wavered

Michigan was tied with Wisconsin with under a minute to go in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals.

Cadeau found himself open for a three-point attempt, one that he didn't pass up. The shot was a bit long, but Michigan was able to secure the offensive rebound for another opportunity to re-take the lead.

The ball ended up in Cadeau's hands once again beyond-the-arc, as the former Tar Heel didn't hesitate to take another crack at it.

Luckily for Michigan, he was confident in himself and knocked down a crucial bucket that helped clinch the Wolverines' spot in the Big Ten title game on Sunday.

While most Tar Heel fans are happy to see Cadeau playing well, they might not like the jab he took at UNC in his postgame press conference...

Cadeau takes a shot at UNC

Cadeau's confidence is sky-high, and his shots didn't stop once the final buzzer sounded.

When asked after the game about the sequence, Cadeau had quite the answer regarding his level of confidence:

"Yeah, I feel like the past probably two years of my life I haven’t been wired like that, but thanks to my coaching staff, I’m now wired like that," Cadeau said. "I was wired like that in high school. So them just giving me confidence, my teammates giving me confidence to just shoot it again even if I miss, they don’t care if I miss again."

Two shocking stats perfectly capture the inconsistency of the Hubert Davis era

Basically, Cadeau was implying that he was a confident shooter in high school, lost that during his time in Chapel Hill, and regained it this year due to his teammates being confident in him shooting the basketball.

Let's discuss it

Sure, Cadeau is probably right in terms of the confidence factor. Let's not forget that teams were daring him to shoot, leaving him wide-open in hopes that he would take the shot.

There's no doubt that his confidence was low during his time as a Tar Heel, but it seems like that confidence drop was sparked by his former coaches and apparently teammates in Chapel Hill.

Yikes.

The Cadeau/UNC marriage definitely didn't end well

Sure, Cadeau's tenure (and ending) at North Carolina didn't go as planned, and it is very evident that it didn't end well either.

It's great to see him performing at a high level on a team better suited to his style of play, especially much better than last year's UNC squad did.

However, do we need to be out here throwing shade?!

We're glad you got your confidence back, now, just leave UNC in the past and move on dude. Focus on helping Michigan compete for a national championship.

Oh, and if you run into Duke again during the NCAA Tournament, how about you channel some of that confidence and actually play well against them for once.
