Courtney Banghart and her staff have made Chapel Hill, North Carolina a very enticing landing spot for some of the best high school basketball prospects throughout the country.
Since Banghart arrived on campus, one of the program's major strengths has been the ability to recruit top-tier talent. As the program continues on a steady rise, recruits are taking notice, as you see the Tar Heels being very active in the recruitments of some of the top prospects available.
Nation Williams, a five-star prospect from the Class of 2027, can be added to that list, as North Carolina has placed itself amongst an elite category of programs who still have a shot at landing the 6-foot-2 forward.

North Carolina has some steep competition to go up against, including two fellow ACC programs: Duke and Notre Dame. Along with having to compete against two big conference foes, UCLA and Iowa are also in the mix still, showing that this recruitment won't be an easy one to win to say the least.
However, given Banghart's track record, it would be wise to never count the Tar Heels out!
Along with narrowing her recruitment down to five schools, Williams also scheduled official visits to each of her remaining finalists. She has already taken her official visit to Iowa, but will visit the other finalists before she ultimately makes her decision.

When the official visits tour kicks off in a few weeks, North Carolina is set to be her first stop on the trip:
North Carolina: September 11-13
Duke: Weekend of September 18
Notre Dame: October 9-11
UCLA: October 30-November 1
If you're Banghart and the UNC women's basketball program, you have to love the fact that you're first on this list, allowing you the opportunity to set the tone right away before Williams gets deeper into her official visits tour. Sure, she already visited Iowa, but now that her recruitment is heating up, that early September visit to Chapel Hill might make all the difference as she looks to find her future home.
Kayla McPherson’s coaching journey continues with an exciting new opportunity
UNC is coming off a recruiting cycle in which they landed the top-ranked prospect in the Class of 2026, Kate Harpring, and aims to continue adding elite five-star talents to the mix to help the roster improve even more. With everything that the program has to offer- an elite college basketball town, a head coach who has proven to be a winner and an incredible recruiter, along with a program that has been on the rise over the last few seasons, it makes sense as to why the top-tier recruits are very interested in North Carolina. Now, it's up to the staff to seal the deal to bring this top-tier talent to Chapel Hill for her college basketball career.
