Whenever he takes the hardwood, Caleb Wilson dazzles the same way he did while at North Carolina. That's yet another reason why people in Chapel Hill continue to root for the youngster, with him putting on a show at the NBA Summer League being great to see. Unlike some of his other draft mates, Wilson didn't shy away from competition, showcasing his drive and determination.
Oh, and he's just getting started. With a full offseason ahead of him soon, no one would blame Wilson if he decided to take some time off and go on a long trip somewhere. Spain to enjoy some patatas bravas and wine? Hey, send him to the Galapagos Islands to swim with the turtles.
Scratch that. Wilson has made it more than clear that once Summer League action is officially a thing of the past, the rookie will be headed home to Chicago to get back on the practice floor to keep working on his craft. This speaks to his work ethic, which is unmatched.
"Hell no. I'm not taking no time off... 'bout to go back to Chicago and get to work." 💪

The Bulls' No. 4 overall pick Caleb Wilson when asked about his plans for after NBA Summer League! pic.twitter.com/yrhV2Eb9t1
"Hell no," Wilson said on if he plans to take some time off in the coming weeks. "I'm not taking no time off. That's why we're here. I'm about to go back to Chicago and get to work. I've learned everything I need to learn from Summer League that I need to work on, and all I can do is get better."
Caleb Wilson's work ethic can't be matched, and UNC fans can confirm that
No one should be surprised that Wilson is taking things so seriously right now. He knows the pressure that has come with him being taken No. 4 overall by the Bulls. We don't have to tell you that Chicago has been through some lean years of late, including finishing 20 games under .500 last season. That's never going to cut it for the historic franchise.
Now almost immediately, Wilson is the face of the organization, giving people needed hope for a better future in The Windy City. That's a lot of pressure for a 19-year-old rookie, especially since he went through so much adversity during his freshman season with the Tar Heels. The serious injury vs. Miami was one thing, but breaking his thumb right before a return vs. Duke ahead of the ACC Tournament was devastating for him.
Wilson made that much clear recently, surprisingly taking some blame for Carolina's first-round exit in the NCAA Tournament, which ultimately led to Hubert Davis getting fired. Wilson taking ownership like that was great to see, but none of that was his fault. This also showcases how much he cared about the Tar Heels, which paints a picture of how much he's going to care about the Bulls too.
Leading up to the 2026-27 campaign, Wilson is going to be on his grind to make sure he's in the Rookie of the Year conversation, while also doing whatever he can to help the Bulls take a giant step forward. He's no question got the right mindset to make both happen.
