Come Saturday, all eyes are going to be on UNC basketball and Hubert Davis following the unfortunate news that came in on Caleb Wilson. In a major setback for this team, the 5-star freshman suffered a fracture in his left hand and he's out for an extended period of time.

Former star's experience with Caleb Wilson's injury is a huge red flag for UNC

Despite that, Wilson has made it clear that he's planning to return to the hardwood later this season for the Tar Heels. On top of that, Wilson took to social media to showcase his hand in a protective brace. With his Instagram caption, he also said, "fall down 999 times and get up 1,000!" which tells us he's ready to attack this adversity head on. You can see Wilson's IG post by clicking on this link.

Caleb Wilson is motivated to come back stronger for UNC basketball

You've really got to feel bad for Wilson, as he's in the middle of an incredible first year in Chapel Hill. Before being ruled out due to his serious injury, the youngster was averaging nearly 20 points per game, while adding more than nine rebounds a showing.

He's been making history for North Carolina this season and all signs are pointing to him being a Top 10 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Before he goes pro, though, the Atlanta product wants to finish what he has started with North Carolina and help this team go on a deep NCAA Tournament run.

As of this writing, there's no set timeframe for when Wilson will be able to lace up his sneakers and make plays once again for Davis. However, Wilson's mindset is 100 percent on doing what he can do to get healthy ASAP and remind the UNC faithful of how great of a player he is.

There's no way to sugarcoat things here, as not having Wilson in the lineup is going to be brutal for the Tar Heels moving forward. Wilson is a diaper dandy and he's looking like one of the best players in the country. For now, he'll have to support his teammates from the bench, with people waiting patiently for his return.
