Everyone held their breath as Caleb Wilson made his way to the locker room during the second half of UNC's loss to Miami on Tuesday night.
Wilson returned to the game but appeared to be in pain, favoring his dominant hand heavily. After the game, everyone was looking for an update on the star freshman's health, one that Hubert Davis had no desire to share.
Facing uncertainty surrounding Wilson's health, Shelby Swanson came to the rescue, providing the much-needed injury update:
Caleb Wilson avoids a significant injury
Swanson reported that Wilson has been diagnosed with a sprained wrist. That is the current length of the update, as his status for Saturday's game has not yet been determined.
UPDATE: Wilson has a sprained wrist. He obviously was able to return to the game on Tuesday with heavy bandaging, so that's good news.

I don't have any further information at this time. Will hopefully get the chance to check in with him, his family on Saturday. https://t.co/X5EtMp2F4w
The good news is...
Tar Heel fans could not live through another star player suffering a significant wrist injury down the stretch (do we even have to bring up the name Kendall Marshall?). It's a sigh of relief that the injury isn't as serious as it looked, given that Wilson's mom was brought into the locker room while he was being evaluated.
Typically, that's never a good sign, but in this case, it wasn't bad (thank goodness).
While it's only a sprain...
Injuries still aren't good, especially when it comes to body parts that play a significant role in your given sport.
If Wilson's wrist is banged up, it could impact him in a variety of ways. We saw his first shot attempt when he returned to the floor, one in which he simply used his dominant hand to find the bottom of the net, but that type of form is not something that is typically sustainable.
While there's no fracture or break, Wilson may have to miss some time (which would be significant in itself for North Carolina).
Before we speculate, let's just wait for the facts of the matter. Hopefully, Wilson will progress to the point where he's as close to fully ready to play as possible.
If not, UNC will have to handle business in his absence.
