It's not very often that a true freshman comes in and makes an All-American level impact right out of the gate.

This year's freshman class is a rare exception, as it features multiple top-tier talents who have taken the college basketball world by storm.

Caleb Wilson is certainly among those freshmen, as the UNC basketball star continues to prove that the hype surrounding him is absolutely real.

Caleb Wilson is in a class of his own

With another double-double outing in the victory over St. Bonaventure in the Fort Myers Tip-Off, Wilson secured his fourth consecutive performance in which he recorded 10+ points to go along with 10+ rebounds.

He became the first freshman ever in the history of the UNC basketball program to reach this honor.

Yes, you read that right.

Tyler Hansbrough, arguably the greatest UNC basketball player ever, never accomplished that feat.

Armando Bacot, the program's all-time double-doubles and rebounding leader, never did as a freshman either.

The list can go on and on regarding elite Tar Heels who have burst onto the scene as true freshman, but Wilson continues to place himself in a whole separate category.

Even on a night where he wasn't as effective offensively as he has been, Wilson is still a matchup nightmare on both ends of the floor. St. Bonaventure focused on slowing Wilson down, but there's only so much you can contain him, as his impact can be felt in various aspects of any given game.

Tar Heel fans are well-aware of just how special Caleb Wilson is. It took just six college games for him to rise to complete stardom, becoming one of the faces of this current college basketball season. While some will argue that other true freshman are "better" than Wilson, the Tar Heels' forward is letting his efforts on the court do the talking, continuously proving that he belongs in the conversation to be considered the best that the country has to offer.

Wilson has talked about his goal of getting his No. 8 jersey hung in the rafters of the Dean Smith Center. If he continues to play at this pace, that goal will certainly be in reach.
