Once June 23 gets here, it's not going to take long at all for UNC star Caleb Wilson to hear his name called in the 2026 NBA Draft. All signs are pointing to Wilson being a Top 5 pick, as he put up historic numbers during his tremendous freshman season in Chapel Hill.

Thanks to his bubbling personality too, Wilson won over countless Carolina hearts. So, what can we expect out of him at the next level? If you ask ESPN's Fran Fraschilla, Wilson is no doubt a special talent and he also sees a little Kevin Garnett in him? Oh yeah:
It’s an excellent top of this @NBADraft. No one knows how it will turn out. But @UNC_Basketball @CalebWilson2025 has a special chip on his shoulder. A little like KG. pic.twitter.com/qqnvdzvQIJ

Caleb Wilson being compared to Kevin Garnett is downright awesome for UNC
Go ahead and put this in your back pocket for some recruiting help, Michael Malone. Seeing those positive words from Fraschilla is bittersweet - it reminds us how special of a player Wilson is, but it's also a reminder that we only got to enjoy one season of him donning a UNC jersey.
Wilson never held back on what playing for the Tar Heels meant to him, as you could tell that each goodbye post he fired up on social media was pretty dang tough for him. Alas, the NBA is calling and no one can blame him for pursuing his dreams of playing pro ball, especially with him expected to be taken off the board so early.
This past season for North Carolina, Wilson averaged 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. He had UNC supporters dreaming of him powering this team to a deep NCAA Tournament run, but multiple injuries late in the season prevented that from happening, with a broken thumb officially ending his time at the Dean Dome.
Despite that, the impact that Wilson made on and off the court for North Carolina can't be measured and he's going to continue to make a difference for the community as a whole. Once he gets drafted, countless UNC fans will be ready to cheer him on regardless of which city he moves to. And if he ends up looking like KG throughout his career, it will only make things better for everyone.
