The hype surrounding former UNC standout Caleb Wilson isn't going to quiet down in the near future. With him going No. 4 overall to the Chicago Bulls, the hope is that he can become a superstar in the league, while helping Chicago get back to a top level. If you ask NBA legend and five-time Finals winner Derek Fisher, he has no doubts in his mind that Wilson will deliver there.
Despite AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Boozer being taken ahead of Wilson in the first round, Fisher, best known for his playing days with the Lakers, didn't hesitate in saying he strongly believes Wilson will end up being the top player from this draft class. Not only that, but Fisher took things one step further there.
"Caleb Wilson could be the best player in the entire league," Fisher said. "He can do everything, man - he can really do everything. You could drop him onto any NBA team today, and he's going to help you win, period, which is why he was taken fourth."

UNC fans will love what Derek Fisher said about Caleb Wilson's monster potential
Those are some strong words from Fisher, and ones we love to see. After his incredible freshman season with the Tar Heels and former head coach Hubert Davis, it felt like a lock that the 6-10 forward was going to be a Top 5 pick. From the moment he was taken off the board too, Wilson has been saying all the right things.
He has honored Michael Jordan, while also letting the Chicago fanbase know that nothing is going to stop him from being a stud in the league. He also sent quite the message to the guys selected in front of him, which was eye-opening. Fisher has no doubts in his mind that Wilson will step up and deliver for the historic franchise too.
"I could be very wrong, but Caleb Wilson is a combination of all three of the guys who went before him," Fisher said. "He's a little bit of Dybantsa, a little bit of Peterson, and a little bit of Boozer all in one package."
It'd be one thing if Fisher had ties to Chicago or something, but he's simply saying this because he's such a big fan of Wilson's game. With the youngster having a tremendous mindset ahead of his rookie season, it only makes Wilson so much easier to root for. Also, he won over the fanbase in Chapel Hill, so we don't have to tell you that countless people will be following his career closely.
Sure, the expectations feel like they're being set a bit too high for Wilson, but he's not going to run away from anything. He's embracing the challenges that are coming his way in Chicago, as the Bulls finished 20 games under .500 last season. Despite that, Wilson has given people in The Windy City reason to smile again, and Fisher's latest take will only have folks even more jacked up for Wilson's debut campaign to arrive.
