Bruce Pearl slamming UNC for firing Hubert Davis may be the worst take yet

Someone needs to take the microphone away from Bruce Pearl...

Bruce Pearl was on the right track while discussing Hubert Davis' firing.

The former Auburn head coach spoke while on NCAA Tip-Off coverage about how the news bothered him to the core.

At the onset of his statement, UNC fans were in total agreement with him, as no one wanted to see Davis' tenure at North Carolina end that way. However, as he continued to speak, Pearl made a statement that had us all scratching our heads.

Something isn't adding up...

Take a look at what Pearl had to say below.

Now, focus on the last sentence of the blurb below...

"I just hate hearing the words 'Hubert Davis was fired at UNC.' That sentence right there bothers me to my core... That's why I'm sitting here, guys. That's part of the reason why I'm sitting here. Because there is no loyalty anymore."

Hold on a minute...

For Bruce Pearl to claim there's no loyalty anymore is truly an oxymoron, given what went down at the end of his time at Auburn.

How quickly he forgets

Pearl elected to resign as the head coach at Auburn just weeks before the start of the 2025-2026 season. While he chose to step away, the university handed the job over to his son, Stephen, who received a rather lucrative contract in the process.

On the surface, it doesn't seem like the loyalty issue came from Auburn's end of things.

Of course, there could be more to the situation that we just don't know about. While we would all love to hear him ellaborate on that statement, it's likely not going to happen, but based on what we know, Bruce Pearl has no business talking about the loyalty aspect, especially when it comes to his coaching situation in which he called the shots.
