The media just couldn't help themselves!

Following the UNC football program's victory over Charlotte, the first of Bill Belichick's college coaching career, the media didn't want to talk about the game.

They wanted all the tea about the drama between Belichick and his former employer: the New England Patriots.

In case you haven't been following, it was reported this week that Belichick has banned Patriots scouts from North Carolina's campus. It felt like a move of pettiness, but there may be more to the story that we aren't aware of.

Here's Belichick's response when asked why the decision to ban the organization from Chapel Hill was made:

"It's clear I'm not welcome there at their facility. So they're not welcome at ours. It’s pretty simple.”

Something must have occurred behind the scenes that makes Belichick feel as if he's not welcomed in New England. Maybe it's the recent history of what has occurred, but the thought process after hearing that comment is that something went down that made Belichick go to this extreme.

Basically, the move is one to counter the Patriots move. It's an "if I'm not welcome in your home, you're not welcome in mine" type of thing, one that adds yet another juicy layer to all this drama that has been swirling around essentially since Belichick and the organization decided to "mutually part ways."

There's no doubt that the entire story of this situation has not been revealed. Even though we may not ever hear all the details of what's going down, the hope is that Belichick is asked to elaborate on it more and decides to go against everything he believes in by feeding the media with what we all want to hear.
