Armando Bacot said it best:

"If you don't want to commit to UNC don't visit because if you do you will."

Well, a three-star offensive lineman from the Class of 2027 visited Chapel Hill this past weekend. Based on Bacot's quote, you can guess how it panned out!

Neal Roberts commits to Bill Belichick and North Carolina

All Neal Roberts needed was one visit to figure out where he wants to call his future home.

The three-star prospect from Winoma High School in Mississippi was in town on Friday for what was set to be his first stop of his official visits tour. He also previously had visits scheduled for Georgia State, Appalachian State and South Florida.

Well, those have been cancelled.

Roberts announced on social media that he has committed to North Carolina. He becomes the third offensive lineman from the Class of 2027 to pledge to the Tar Heels.

A 6-foot-3, 305-pound presence, Roberts has versatility along the offensive line. He began his high school career rotating between the guard and center positions before transitioning to left tackle for his junior season.

We all know how Belichick loves versatility from his offensive lineman, as he's not afraid to shuffle the deck to find the best mix of guys to fulfill the five spots along the line.

North Carolina was the first school to offer Roberts back in February, and that seemed to stick with the rising senior. Once he stepped foot on campus, he quickly knew that Chapel Hill was the right spot for him, as the official visit was more than enough to convince him to become a Tar Heel.

Bill Belichick works his magic to help UNC land a new 325-pound OL commit

Neal wasn't the only commitment that came along on Tuesday, as Philadelphia product Zykee Scott also announced his commitment to the Tar Heels. With both commitments, there are currently 9 Class of 2027 players who have verbally pledged to play for Bill Belichick starting next season.

Of course, it's tough nowadays to get excited over the recruiting trail, as it's literally not official until that player gets on campus. In fact, we see so much wheeling and dealing, even when players seem to be fully committed, as there's plenty of room for last-minute changes of heart.

However, Belichick and his staff continue to push for the recruits they believe can help improve the program moving forward, and are doing everything they can to ensure that they get those guys on campus.

Based on Belichick's early tenure in Chapel Hill, high school recruiting hasn't been an issue for the UNC football program.
