Everyone is chiming in on who should be the next men's basketball coach at North Carolina.

There have been plenty of names thrown around, some realistic and others very far-fetched. Regardless, it's interesting to see how people from different aspects of the game, from former and current players to coaches, media members, and fans alike, feel about how UNC should proceed with this very important hire.

A pair of Naismith Hall of Famers, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, shared their thoughts on the matter on the former's podcast, KG: Certified. The former NBA teammates, who won a championship with the Boston Celtics together, threw some interesting candidates out there.

KG and Paul Pierce believe UNC should keep it in the family

Early in the clip, Pierce talks about how UNC has always kept it in the family. He added that he wasn't surprised that Hubert Davis was fired, given North Carolina's lack of success over the last few seasons.

When it comes to who should be next in line, the duo identified three former Tar Heels that really caught their attention, starting with Jerry Stackhouse.

Pierce caught Garnett's attention when he threw Stackhouse's name into the mix. Citing his coaching experience at Vanderbilt (and now as an assistant with the Golden State Warriors), the duo instantly felt that this could be a legitimate option for North Carolina, but threw another wildcard name in there that also raised some eyebrows.

Rasheed Wallace.

Wallace does have some coaching experience under his belt previously, but it seems like Garnett is going to start a campaign for Stackhouse and Wallace to join forces together in Chapel Hill. Kind of like when you run for president with a vice president candidate, this campaign would be Stackhouse/Wallace 2026.

They weren't done there, as Pierce also threw Raymond Felton's name into the mix.

It's safe to say that both Garnett and Pierce believe that UNC should remain in the family with its next hire, and you could make the assumption that they firmly believe Stackhouse would be the perfect candidate for the job.

Let's face it: a coaching staff of Stackhouse, Wallace and potentially Felton would certainly be interesting to watch!
