UNC Football: Greene Jr. drawing early transfer portal interest

This former UNC football player has drawn plenty of interest since he entered the transfer portal to explore other opportunities.

Since announcing his intention to enter the transfer portal on December 2, former UNC football wide receiver Andre Greene Jr. has drawn a good amount of interest from other programs.

In fact, Greene Jr. has already begun taking official visits elsewhere.

The former Tar Heel was scheduled to visit Penn State on December 8 and has a visit set up with Virginia on December 15. It is also being reported that Greene Jr. has drawn interest from programs such as Wisconsin, Florida, and Tennessee.

Fans of the UNC football program heard a lot about the potential of Greene Jr., but it never resulted in significant playing time during his time in Chapel Hill. As a Tar Heel, the former four-star recruit from Richmond, Virginia, recorded just two catches for 17 yards in limited action this season as a redshirt freshman.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for Greene Jr. at North Carolina, but it appears that the talented wide receiver will have plenty of options to choose from for his next landing spot. Virginia could be a top suitor, given it would be a return to his home state, but the other options that have expressed interest could also be strong suitors as he looks for an opportunity to showcase his talent.
