After a huge victory over Miami, the UNC football program looks to continue its success as they host Virginia to continue ACC play.

Mack Brown and the UNC football program are ready to continue ACC play, as they’ll host the Virginia Cavaliers to wrap up a three-game homestand.

The Tar Heels are riding high, having won each of their first six contests for the first time since 1997. Last Saturday night, the UNC football program defeated then-ranked No. 25 Miami, a victory that not only made a statement in the ACC but put the country on notice as well.

North Carolina, who has cracked the top 10 in both this week’s Coaches and AP Polls, will focus its attention on Virginia, a team that has struggled through the first half of the college football season.

The Cavaliers lost each of its first five contests but are coming off a victory against William & Mary this past weekend. Although their record isn’t impressive, this is a team that doesn’t fold easily, as three of their five losses have been decided by three points or fewer.

This is a game that the UNC football program is expected to win, but as we all know, anything can happen on any given Saturday. North Carolina has to keep the main thing the main thing, focusing on the opponent ahead.

It’s easy to start looking ahead, as this team has a legitimate shot to make a run at an ACC title game berth. To add to that, success down the stretch could even lead to a College Football Playoff bid if all pans out.

However, to get to that point, the UNC football program must handle Virginia, as the ultimate goal this week is to be 7-0 by the end of it.
