We are previewing the upcoming week for North Carolina Tar Heels Athletics from October 9, 2023, through October 15, 2023.

Men’s & Women’s Basketball Live Action with Carolina Basketball is scheduled for this Friday Night, October 13th, in the Smith Center. The doors will open at 5:30 PM, with the event beginning at 7:00 PM. It is the first chance to get a look at the 2023-2024 men’s & women’s basketball teams, and is always a fun event to attend.

Field Hockey – The No. 1 ranked Tar Heels lost a heartbreaker on Sunday versus Liberty in double overtime by a final score of 2-1. They will enter this week 9-2 and looking to get back on track as they will travel up north for two road games. The first game will come at Syracuse in conference action on Friday, October 13th, at 4:00 PM. Following that matchup, North Carolina will face the University of Albany in nonconference action on Sunday, October 15th, at 12:00 PM, with neither game being televised.

Football – Coming off its most impressive performance of the 2023 regular season, the 5-0 and No. 12 Ranked Tar Heels will welcome the No. 25 Miami Hurricanes to Chapel Hill for a Saturday night showdown in Kenan Stadium in Primetime. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM and is being televised nationally on ABC. It’s a great weekend to make a trip to Chapel Hill and see the basketball teams on Friday night and football on Saturday.

Men’s Soccer – The Tar Heel Men’s Soccer team dropped their first game of the season last Friday when Syracuse beat them 1-0 in Chapel Hill. They will look to right the ship this week with a non-conference game versus Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday, October 10th at 6:00 PM, followed by a conference road trip to Wake Forest on Saturday, October 14th at 7:00 PM. Both games will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.

Women’s Soccer – The 9-0-5 Tar Heels are the No. 1 team in the country and tied with No. 22 Duke 1-1 over the weekend. They will have one game this week as they travel to Winston-Salem to face Wake Forest on Friday, October 13th. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM and can be found on ACC Network Extra.

Volleyball – After a strong start to the season, the Tar Heels have dropped their last five matchups, all coming in ACC Play, and now stand at 7-8 on the regular season. They will look to get back on track this week but will have to do so on the road as they will travel up north to Syracuse and Boston College. The game versus the Orange will be on Friday, October 13th at 6:00 PM, and the game versus the Eagles will be on Sunday, October 15th at 1:00 PM, with both games being on ACC Network Extra.
