Coming off a bye week when the UNC Football program moved up in the rankings, they demolished Syracuse 40-7 to impress voters once again.

The UNC Football team gave us arguably the most impressive performance of the season on Saturday when they hosted the Syracuse Orange in Chapel Hill. It was a dominant 40-7 victory that the Tar Heels were in complete control of from kickoff. North Carolina entered Saturday’s game ranked No. 14 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 13 in the Coaches Rankings.

As a result of their dominant performance and with some other programs ranked ahead of them losing this weekend, the Tar Heels continued their ascent in the national rankings. So, how much did voters move UNC football up this week?

The Tar Heels moved up two more spots in the AP Poll this week, rising to No. 12 in the country. At 5-0, each game UNC football continues to win makes the next one more significant and historic. In the Coaches Poll, North Carolina received a bump in the rankings by one spot to No. 12.

Next up will be the 4-1 Miami Hurricanes, who lost in dramatic fashion to Georgia Tech on Saturday. The Hurricanes will come to Chapel Hill ranked No. 25 in the AP Poll. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM in Kenan Stadium on Saturday, October 14th, and TV coverage will be on ABC.
