UNC Basketball: RJ Davis works out with potential future Tar Heel
As he returned to his high school, current UNC basketball guard RJ Davis spent some time with one of the program’s top recruiting targets.
The new school year is approaching, which means that the clock is ticking toward the return of students on campus in Chapel Hill.
Members of the UNC basketball program spent a good amount of time this summer on campus, as they are now getting some time to enjoy themselves before the new semester begins.
Rising senior RJ Davis took a bit of a break but has been back in the gym preparing for the 2023-2024 season. He returned to his high school, Archbishop Stepinac, for a workout where he happened to spend time with one of the program’s biggest recruiting targets.
Yes, that’s Boogie Fland, the five-star guard from the Class of 2024. Just a month ago, Fland announced his eight finalists, a list that includes the UNC basketball program.
Fland is a current student at Archbishop Stepinac, as this is not the first time that the two have connected. However, as they worked together to improve their game, you’d expect that Davis spent some time trying to convince Fland to follow his path to Chapel Hill.
The UNC basketball program has actively pursued guards from the tri-state area, as they hope that Fland will be the next great talent from this area to become a Tar Heel. Based on what Davis has already accomplished over his three seasons on campus, Fland might be thinking that he could find some similar success if he does commit to North Carolina.
Are we looking at the present and future of the UNC basketball program in the above picture? Time will only tell.
