Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program are still in the mix for one of the top guards available in the Class of 2024.

The UNC basketball program has been very interested in five-star guard Boogie Fland, as the White Plains, New York native has already been on campus for an unofficial visit.

However, once Elliot Cadeau originally committed, it seemed like the Tar Heels didn’t have room for Fland.

Now that Cadeau has re-classified, there seems to be an opening available, as the UNC basketball program finds themselves still very much in the mix to land the top-10 prospect.

Fland announced his top eight schools, with North Carolina being one of them. The other programs still involved include Kentucky, Alabama, Indiana, Michigan, Maryland, UConn, and St. John’s.

Currently, Fland ranks as the No. 8 prospect in the Class of 2024 and only trails future Tar Heel Ian Jackson among the top-ranked players from the state of New York.

If the UNC basketball program needs any help in Fland’s recruitment, look no further than senior guard RJ Davis. Fland attends Archbishop Stepinac, the same school that Davis attended.

The Tar Heels have had some really good success with guards from the tri-state area, as Fland could be enticed by being the next great guard to make their way through Chapel Hill. With already having the top-ranked 2024 recruiting class, adding Fland to the mix would clearly separate the UNC basketball program from the rest of the pack.
