With his reclassification decision looming, Jarin Stevenson is making an official visit to the UNC basketball program before that occurs.

The talk around Jarin Stevenson’s recruitment has been his upcoming reclassification decision.

Recently, the five-star, who is currently a member of the Class of 2024, stated that he’ll make his decision by June 9, which is the end of his current school year.

Before he makes that decision, Stevenson will be making an official visit to the UNC basketball program.

As first reported by Inside Carolina, the Pittsboro, North Carolina native is expected to visit Chapel Hill on May 30. Even though he’s been on campus numerous times on unofficial stops, this will serve as his first official visit to the University of North Carolina.

Stevenson is coming off a very strong junior season, as he was named the Gatorade North Carolina Player of the Year. He averaged 21.5 points and 11.6 rebounds for a 2A Seaforth team that finished their season with an 18-9 record.

The Tar Heels have been after Stevenson since October of 2021, as they hope to keep the in-state star close to home.  Stevenson officially visiting campus is big news for North Carolina, as they hope that his visit will ultimately lead him to commit to the UNC basketball program.

Whether he stays in the Class of 2024 or re-classes to join this year’s group, it’s certain that Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program will welcome him with open arms. This is a big-time target that would help the Tar Heels improve their roster whenever he would decide to make his way to campus.
