Since entering the transfer portal, former UNC basketball player D’Marco Dunn has received plenty of interest from other programs.

Just hours before the transfer portal was set to close, D’Marco Dunn decided it was in his best interest to leave the UNC basketball program to pursue other opportunities.

In the short time that he’s been in the transfer portal, the former Tar Heel has drawn interest from a handful of programs.

According to Jon Rothstein, Dunn has heard from the above list of programs over the last few days. Some of the notable programs that have reached out include both Arizona and Texas.

Georgia Tech is the lone ACC school on the list, but that could change over time. At this point, at least 16 programs have expressed interest in the former Tar Heel guard.

Dunn played in 50 total games as a Tar Heel, averaging 1.9 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 0.2 assists per game. Similar to other reserves who decided to leave Chapel Hill, Dunn struggled to find a defined role within Hubert Davis’ rotation.

Given his lack of role with the UNC basketball program, it’s really difficult to determine what type of player Dunn can be at the college level. However, if he’s able to find the right fit in the transfer portal, it’s possible that he can become an impact player at his next stop.

Next. The transfer portal is closed, now what?. dark
