News regarding former UNC basketball player Dontrez Styles’ recruitment continues to surface as he comes closer to a final decision.

As we already knew, Dontrez Styles’ recruitment is starting to heat up. The former UNC basketball player seems to be nearing a decision, as he has a few official visits coming up that should help him decide his future fate.

Styles discussed his recruitment and his time with the UNC basketball program during his weekly “Tuesdays with Trez” segment on “The Bryan Hanks Show,” and had some interesting things to say about his time in Chapel Hill.

"“I want to play and get back to it. It’s a great program. I enjoyed my time here but ready to move on to my next chapter. It was very sad because two years here, I’m used to it. When you’re used to something and it’s time for a change, it’s really sad.”"

To no surprise, Styles’ decision to transfer focused on playing time, something he struggled to earn during his two seasons at North Carolina. With a few seasons of eligibility remaining, Styles is looking for a program that will provide him with the opportunity to see the court more.

The Kinston, North Carolina native visited NC State last weekend, and will be at Georgetown over the next few days. Along with those two programs, Styles is also considering South Carolina and East Carolina.

"“I feel like I can come in and help all these schools out.”"

Styles knows how big this decision is, but ultimately wants to make it sooner rather than later:

"“I plan on it, but it’s a big decision. I want to make sure it’s right. So, if I get to Sunday and I need more time, maybe a couple more days? So, you never know. But I plan on Sunday.”"

If you’re interested in finding out where former Tar Heels are heading, you may see Styles announce his decision by the end of this upcoming week.
