The UNC football program has landed a commitment from another transfer player, as the Tar Heels added some much-needed secondary depth.

After losing a good amount of players to the transfer portal, the UNC football program needed to take a look at the available players in an effort to fill some of the voids.

Sunday was a good day for the Tar Heels, as they earned two commitments from talented transfers.

First, it was a standout offensive lineman who should make an immediate impact. The next is a player who definitely can help improve the team’s secondary.

Former East Tennessee State cornerback Alijah Huzzie has officially committed to the University of North Carolina. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound corner comes to Chapel Hill with two seasons of eligibility remaining, including an additional COVID season.

The Tar Heels are getting one of the best corners in the FCS, as Huzzie put together some impressive numbers during his time at East Tennessee State.

As a freshman during the 2021 season, Huzzie earned freshmen All-American team honors as he recorded 76 tackles to go along with three interceptions. He was even better as a sophomore, as he finished the season with finished with 59 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, six interceptions,16 pass breakups, and 22 passes defended.

North Carolina’s secondary will look a lot different come next season, as some key members are set to depart the program. The addition of Huzzie may not be the Tar Heels’ last, as they could look to add more depth via the transfer portal, especially with regard to the secondary.
