Five-star guard Ian Jackson is in the process of planning out his five official visits. Will the UNC basketball program be included in his college tour?

The UNC basketball recruiting team has made it no secret that they are heavily interested in five-star Class of 2024 guard Ian Jackson.

Jackson, who is considered by 247Sports Composite to be the No. 1 player out of the state of New York and the No. 2 overall prospect in the entire country, has plenty of interest on the recruiting trail. As the Bronx, New York native continues along in this process, it looks like his schedule of official visits should be set within the near future.

In a recent interview with Rivals Basketball Recruiting Analyst Travis Graf, Jackson stated that a handful of teams are currently vying for one of his five available official visit slots. Fortunately for Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program, it appears as if they are close to a lock to getting a visit from this top available talent.

According to Graf, Kentucky, North Carolina, Oregon, and UCLA appear to be the most likely programs to have the chance to host Jackson on their campus over the next few months. Graf cites that Kansas and Duke may be the two teams competing for the final spots as it’s likely that his visit dates will be announced in the “near future.”

Similar to what we heard about fellow 2024 five-star target Elliot Cadeau, Jackson stated that reclassifying could be an option for him. Regardless of what class he is a part of, the UNC basketball recruiting team would welcome him with open arms if he elects to take his talents to Chapel Hill.
