The UNC basketball recruiting team will be hosting four-star big man James Brown for an official visit this upcoming fall.

After securing an official visit from four-star forward Drake Powell at the end of August, Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball recruiting team added another one for this upcoming fall.

According to David Sisk of Rivals, four-star center James Brown will be taking an official visit to Chapel Hill on October 15. The Chicago, Illinois native picked up an offer from the Tar Heels on June 30.

In 247Sports most recent Class of 2024 rankings, Brown is viewed as the No. 31 overall prospect in his graduating class. He also ranks as the top prospect coming out of the state of Illinois.

If you go off last year’s calendar, there’s a chance that Brown will be in town for the program’s annual “Late Night” event to kick off the upcoming season.

Last year, the event, the first in the Hubert Davis era, was held on October 15. If the schedule remains somewhat the same, it’s possible that Brown will get to experience it first-hand this year.

His recruitment continues to heat up, as he’s picked up offers from Indiana, Michigan, Duke, and Michigan State since his offer from the UNC basketball recruiting team. With assistant coach Sean May leading his recruitment, the Tar Heels hope that his visit will help lure him to Chapel Hill.
