We officially know what jersey numbers the incoming UNC basketball players will be wearing as they arrive in Chapel Hill.

Let the anticipation begin!

The UNC basketball program is set to add three freshmen to its roster this summer. The trio, along with Will Shaver (who enrolled at North Carolina in the winter and redshirted during the 2021-2022 season) will begin summer classes while they get accustomed to their new basketball team and teammates.

Tyler Nickel and Jalen Washington have already arrived in Chapel Hill, as they moved in this past weekend. After winning the gold medal with Team USA in Mexico, Seth Trimble is expected to arrive on campus on Thursday.

As they begin their time with the UNC basketball program, we now know what jersey uniforms each player will be repping.

Ross Martin of Inside Carolina was the first to report the jersey numbers for the incoming freshman. The players will wear the following numbers:

Seth Trimble- No. 0

Jalen Washington- No. 13

Will Shaver- No. 21

Tyler Nickel- No. 24

Trimble will be donning the No. 0, which was last worn by Anthony Harris last season. Washington will look to break “the curse” of No. 13, as it’s been a number that hasn’t been friendly to the Tar Heels in recent memory.

Shaver takes over the No. 21, which was last held by former Tar Heel big man Sterling Manley. After Kerwin Walton announced his transfer destination on Monday, Nickel was able to take over the No. 24 to begin his Tar Heel career.

Hubert Davis’ first official recruiting class is set to make its mark on the UNC basketball program, as the hope is that this group could help the Tar Heels capture another national championship during their time on campus.
