UNC Basketball: Brady Manek competes in G League Elite Camp Scrimmage
How did former UNC basketball standout forward Brady Manek fare in his first scrimmage as part of the NBA G League Elite Camp?
The NBA G League Elite Camp is officially underway, as Monday served as the first day of scrimmages for the players participating.
Of course, fans of the UNC basketball program want to know how Brady Manek, the lone former Tar Heel to be invited to the event, fared against the competition. In his first live-action of the camp, Manek helped lead his team to victory.
As a member of Team Four, Manek scored 10 points on four of seven shooting from the floor. In typical Brady Manek fashion, two of his four made shots came from beyond the three-point line.
In addition to his scoring output, the Harrah, Oklahoma native also hauled in seven rebounds and recorded an assist in just under 18 minutes played.
Team Four went on to edge Team Three by a final score of 90-87. Houston guard Marcus Sasser (Team Four) led all scorers with 23 points from the floor.
This was a good first showing for Manek, as he was able to display his ability to shoot the basketball while also being able to fight for rebounds down low. Those are two skills that should draw the attention of NBA scouts if he can continue to showcase these skills over the next few days.
