UNC Basketball: Brady Manek to participate in NBA G League Elite Camp
The former UNC basketball standout will have the opportunity to work out in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and executives.
On May 16 and 17, the NBA G League Elite Camp will be held at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
This camp will provide NBA draft prospects the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA coaches, executives, and scouts. Players invited will not only take part in strength and agility drills but will play in five-on-five games as well.
Not only will players have the chance to compete at this event, but can earn their way into earning a spot in the NBA Draft Combine, which will be held later on that same week.
At this year’s NBA G League Elite Camp, the UNC basketball program will be represented by Brady Manek.
Participating in this event is a great opportunity for Manek, as he’s looking to prove that he deserves to be drafted by an NBA team. He’s coming off a tremendous season in which he set new career-highs in points per game and three point shooting percentage.
The Harrah, Oklahoma native played a vital role in helping the Tar Heels make a deep NCAA Tournament run. For someone of his size, he has shown the ability to shoot the basketball at a very high level, something that could be very enticing to NBA clubs, especially with the high tempo game that the league has grown accustomed to.
As we saw in his lone season in Chapel Hill, all you truly need sometimes is an opportunity. Manek embraced his chance with the Tar Heels, and we should expect that he’ll be ready to compete in the upcoming NBA G League Elite Camp.
