Armando Bacot is at it again, as he’s trying to recruit a top transfer target to the UNC basketball program.

There’s no offseason for UNC basketball standout Armando Bacot, as he’s been a rather busy man over the last few weeks.

Between rehabbing his injury suffered during the NCAA Tournament to making special guest appearances at multiple events, the schedule for the Tar Heel big man surely has been filled.

However, even with all this, along with a new-found acting career, Bacot has plenty of time to continue helping his beloved program recruit some top players to Chapel Hill.

Bacot’s latest recruiting target is none other than Matthew Mayer of Baylor. Mayer, who is still going through the NBA Draft process, entered the transfer portal prior to the May 1 deadline in order to keep his immediate eligibility in case he decides to return to the college ranks next season.

In interviews over the past few weeks, Bacot has made mention of some “top players reaching out to him via direct messages.” Of course, the Richmond, Virginia native did not provide specific names, but could Mayer have one of the players that Bacot was talking about?

Mayer is a player who could be a really nice addition to next year’s UNC basketball roster. With Brady Manek departing, Hubert Davis and his staff could use a similar player that also brings an extra level of defensive presence, which could definitely be useful for the Tar Heels.

Of course, Davis will explore every possible option to fill the team’s open scholarship. However, if Mayer decides to return to the college level for another season, the Tar Heels should be heavy players in his recruitment.

Without a doubt, Armando Bacot will be there to help in any way possible to show him that Chapel Hill should be his next stop.
