UNC basketball standout Armando Bacot is doing his part to help Mack Brown and the UNC football program recruit a transfer target to Chapel Hill.

This week, Armando Bacot announced that he will be returning to the UNC basketball program for his senior season.

Of course, this is huge news for Hubert Davis and his staff, as they will return one of the best big men in the entire country. With his decision now made, Bacot shifts his focus back to the University of North Carolina, where he continues to be an active recruiter for some of the players that the school is recruiting.

One of those players is Lejond Cavazos, a football transfer from Ohio State. Cavazos is a former four-star recruit who had trouble climbing up the depth chart with the Buckeyes. The 6-foot-1 safety will look for a new home and could possibly reunite with an old friend in Chapel Hill.

Bacot and Cavazos have known each other since their high school days, as both student-athletes attended IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Given their past history, Bacot appears to be giving Mack Brown an assist on the program’s recruitment of Cavazos.

Based on Cavazos’s response on Twitter to Bacot, it appears that the rising redshirt sophomore may be set to make an official visit to Chapel Hill in the near future:

Social media is simply a dominating factor in today’s world. With all the different outlets available, we have a unique opportunity to not only interact with student-athletes across the country but also see how they go about their business with one another as well.

Bacot is not shy to voice his opinion on social media, as he’s an active recruiter and advocate for the University of North Carolina. In this recruiting battle, Bacot’s friendship could help the UNC football program lure in Cavazos, a player who could help improve the team’s secondary depth moving forward.
