Mark your calenders UNC fans, the newest Tar Heels-inspired Air Jordan shoe officially has a release date.

After being teased earlier in the year for a 2022 release, the Air Jordan 6 now has a release date just in time for March Madness in 2022. Jordan Brand will release the UNC Air Jordan 6 retro will officially release on March 5th per several reports.

The classic shoe gets dressed in a smooth Carolina blue, white, and black colorway. The upper is dominated in that Carolina blue colorway featuring white and black accents throughout and is branded with the classic Jumpman orange Nike tag on the back.

Check out some early photos of this awesome colorway below:

This isn’t the first Air Jordan that is dressed in a UNC-inspired colorway and it won’t be the last either. Jordan Brand has paid homage to Michael Jordan’s legacy at North Carolina with several releases over the years, and all have been a hit.

Playing at the University does have its perks as we’ve seen several player edition shoes specifically for UNC over the years as well as the team getting the latest releases including the Air Jordan 11 “Cool Grey” just a few weeks ago.

Like other releases in the past, this one will be a tough one to get your hands on as it’s expected to sell out right away. You can try to purchase this shoe on the SNKRS app or at participating retail stores across the country come March. And we should expect to see some UNC players wearing these come March on the court as well.

Next. Good news for UNC on the recruiting trail. dark
