The UNC Basketball program got a statement win on Wednesday night taking down No. 24 Michigan 72-51 in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge in the Dean Dome. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for UNC in the challenge but more importantly, got them back on track.

UNC moved to 5-2 on the year and earned their first ranked win of the season after previously being 0-2. During the game, the atmosphere in the Dean Dome was electric as UNC was able to build a double-digit lead in the second half backed by the play of Caleb Love.

But after the game, the atmosphere in the locker room was electric.

UNC players and staff members were greeted with some special boxes at their lockers following the win as they opened them up and saw the retro Air Jordan XI “Cool Grey” shoe that is releasing this month. Check out some images via the program’s Twitter account below:

Playing for UNC does have its perks and this is certainly one of them. Not only do the players and staff for athletics get player exclusive colorways but they get some new releases as well, as was the case here.

The Air Jordan XI model is one of the more popular shoes in sneaker history and it makes its return in a Cool Grey colorway this month. The shoe has already released on a “shock drop” a few weeks back but sold out. If you want your chance at this colorway, it will be released on December 11 with a retail price tag of  $225 on the SNKRS app and select retailers across the country. The shoe is expected to sell out again.
