UNC Basketball: J.P. Tokoto joins brother on visit to Chapel Hill
By Zack Pearson
The UNC Basketball program will continue to host official visitors as the month of June rolls on now that the restrictions have been lifted. And after hosting a few already in the first 17 or so days, they are welcoming another 2022 target this weekend.
Four-star point guard Seth Trimble is the latest prospect to visit campus, arriving earlier in the week and staying two days for his official. It comes just a few days after Trimble visited Michigan, another program that is considered a top team in his recruitment.
But Trimble didn’t come alone and he had a pretty good tour guide in his own family for the trip.
Trimble’s brother and former UNC forward J.P. Tokoto was one of the family members on his trip to Chapel Hill, allowing him to get a perspective from someone who spent three years on the campus and in the town. The two posed for photos together in UNC jerseys as Tokoto made the trip back:
Tokoto was also on the official visit to Michigan so it’s not a HUGE difference-maker but it is nice to see him back on campus potentially helping pursue his younger brother to join the Tar Heels like he did.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Trimble hails out of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and has a total of 14 offers in his recruitment. He picked up his UNC offer last month and the Tar Heels have become a legit contender in the race to land him. He’s rated No. 54 overall, the No. 9 point guard and the No. 1 player in the state of Wisconsin per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
While there is still a bit to go, Michigan does appear to hold a small advantage at least in the crystal ball with one prediction. But things can change quickly and a good visit to Chapel Hill could go a long way in this recruitment.
