Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program are in hot pursuit of J.P. Tokoto’s brother, Seth Trimble.

First-year North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis is fresh off his first commitment from a 2022 prospect, and he’s working hard to add a second. With more than a dozen scholarship offers currently out to high school seniors, and the year-long NCAA dead period now over, he’s hoping to do just that in the near future.

One of the prospects Davis and his coaching staff are heavily focused on is Seth Trimble, a 4-star point guard from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin that’s ranked among the top prospects in his state. Trimble, brother of former Tar Heel J.P Tokoto and a rising senior at Menomonee Falls High School, has become an increasingly popular prospect on the recruiting trail.

He’s already got scholarship offers from more than a dozen schools including Arizona State, Creighton, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, USC and Wisconsin. He’s also received interest from Marquette and Virginia, among others, and his offer sheet will only continue to grow in in the coming months.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound senior guard is just 77th in the 247Sports Composite, but I’d expect that ranking to improve over the coming months. Similarly, Trimble saw his ranking improve from No. 109 to No. 35 in the latest Rivals150 rankings. Now, approaching 5-star status entering the summer before his final year of high school, Trimble is making college visits and talking to coaches in preparation for a commitment that could come as early as August.

The Tar Heels, in particular, have been prioritizing the Wisconsin native, which was highlighted in a recent interview with Stockrisers’ Jake Weingarten.

"“UNC has also been on me heavier,” Trimble said. “I talk to Coach Fred and Coach Hubert often. I love talking to Coach Hubert, he’s a very down-to-earth guy and he’s super easy to talk to. I also visit UNC soon and I’m excited about that too. UNC has a very good history of guards, and I think Coach Hubert will continue to keep it going.”"

With a visit to Chapel Hill on the horizon, and the Tar Heels ramping up their efforts to get him in a Carolina uniform next season, Trimble’s recruitment is really heating up in the home stretch.
