The veteran linebacker was sidelined to start up training camp, but has returned as a full participant during Chicago Bears practices.
Mitchell Trubisky is not the only former Tar Heel who is drawing headlines at Chicago Bears training camp.
As the Bears began their training camp, veteran linebacker Robert Quinn did not participate. After receiving a big five-year, $70 million dollar contract this offseason, it might’ve been a little bit of a surprise to not see Quinn with the regulars in camp.
However, this is a sign of precaution for the Bears, as they aim to limit the workload for some of their key defensive players, such as Quinn, Aiken Hicks and Khalil Mack.
The 30-year-old did not participate in the first two weeks of practice, as the coaching staff said that he was “on his own program” in regards to getting into game shape. As the season gets closer, Quinn is back to operating on a full workload.
Robert Quinn is back to a full workload. Was impressed watching him out there today. #Bears

Chicago is definitely excited to see its three-headed monster chasing the quarterback this season. Without preseason games, it looks as if the team will take every precaution necessary to ensure that the trio is able to stay as healthy as possible this upcoming season.
When asked if he’d be ready for the season opener, Quinn had this to say:
Bears OLB Robert Quinn asked if the season started tomorrow, would he be good to go: "As long as I wake up."

The veteran outside linebacker all but assured that he’d be ready to go for the team’s season opener against the Detroit Lions on September 13th. As kickoff inches closer, it will be interesting to see what Quinn can do with his new team this season.
