A Stanford commit is pushing hard for a UNC Basketball target to join him in the Cardinal’s 2021 recruiting class. Where do the Tar Heels stand?

The UNC Basketball program is still in pursuit for five-star small forward Harrison Ingram in the 2021 recruiting class. Ingram has been on UNC’s radar for a long time as Roy Williams and the staff have been down to watch him play over the past year.

With 28 offers in his recruitment, Ingram recently cut his list down to 6 teams including the Tar Heels in that list. In addition to UNC, Ingram named Stanford, Purdue, Michigan, Harvard and Howard on his list.

While the Tar Heels are still in pursuit, they are reportedly behind both Purdue and Stanford in the race for Ingram as those two programs have emerged as the favorites. But one player who is already committed in the 2021 class is now pushing hard to have him join the Cardinal.

Stanford’s lone commit, four-star point guard Isael Silva, says he’s actively trying to get Ingram to join him and commit to the Cardinal:

Like Stanford, UNC has one recruit committed in the 2021 recruiting class as they landed Dontrez Styles in April. Styles recently admitted that he is also trying to help recruit some players to join him in the class.

But he didn’t list Ingram and instead mentioned D’Marco Dunn and Hunter Sallis. While that probably doesn’t mean much, UNC does have a bit of an uphill climb for Ingram so anything would help.
