The lone UNC Basketball commit for the 2021 recruiting class says he’s helping recruit some players to the program

With the UNC Basketball program returning to campus this week, Roy Williams and his coaching staff are focusing on future classes.

Despite being in a dead period until at least through August, the Tar Heels have managed to stay in the news with recruits. Whether it’s making cut lists for recruits, conducting virtual visits or even landing four-star recruit Dontrez Styles  back in April, Williams and the program haven’t had a terrible time.

With Styles being the lone commit in the 2021 class for the Tar Heels, they still have their eyes set on a few other targets. And Styles is trying to do his best in helping lure recruits to Chapel Hill.

NC Preps insider Deana King of Tar Heels Illustrated caught up with Styles for a special interview on Monday and the recruit broke down his Summer so far. Among the topics was if Styles has talked to other recruits along the way in hopes of bringing them to Chapel Hill.

The four-star recruit revealed that he’s been talking to a pair of UNC targets:

"THI: Are you doing any recruiting or talking to any other players in your class?STYLES: “D’Marco Dunn and Hunter Sallis.”"

Both Dunn and Sallis are high up on UNC’s recruiting board for the 2021 class and would be very solid additions along with Styles.

Dunn recently received his offer from the Tar Heels and has been on the rise ever since he arrived in the state of North Carolina after transferring from Arizona. The shooting guard is ranked as a four-star recruit and it could be a battle between the Tar Heels and Wildcats.

As for Sallis, he received his offer a few months back and the Tar Heels could be in the driver’s seat as it stands now. The combo guard out of Nebraska is ranked as a five-star recruit and a Top 20 player per 247 Sports.

Both Sallis and Dunn have yet to visit UNC during this pandemic and likely won’t be able to until Fall at the earliest. Getting them on campus would help UNC’s chances in landing at least one.
