A pair of former Tar Heels put up big numbers in their team’s most recent contest in the NBA bubble

The restart of the NBA season is underway, and 9 former Tar Heels are competing as part of the NBA Bubble.

In their most recent games, two former Tar Heels had impressive performances for their respective teams. The Phoenix Suns are one of the most talked-about teams throughout the league. They have won all four of their contests, and have put themselves in a position where a playoff spot isn’t totally out of the question.

One of the key contributors for the Suns has been Cameron Johnson, who has embraced his new role in the team’s starting lineup.

In Thursday night’s victory over the Indiana Pacers, Johnson scored 14 points and recorded 12 rebounds for his second career double-double. Both of the 24-year-old’s double-doubles have come from within the NBA Bubble.

Since being added to the starting rotation, Johnson has averaged 13.2 points and 8.5 rebounds, The forward has embraced his new expanded role in the rotation, and should continue to be a major factor as the Suns compete for a playoff spot.

Along with Johnson’s impressive performance, Tony Bradley also had a very impressive performance for the Utah Jazz. During Friday afternoon’s contest, the 22-year-old posted a double-double of his own, his first of the season. His 15 points are a season-high for the third-year veteran, and his 11 boards ties his original season-best.

As the Jazz are locked into the playoffs, it’s possible that Bradley may see a more expanded role down the stretch. If he continues to play like he did during Friday’s contest, the Jazz may be forced to find more minutes for the young center.
