Brown was a point guard at North Carolina from 1960 to 1963, and became an assistant coach to Dean Smith in 1965. He went on to coach for a number of teams, both collegiate and professional, winning titles with the Kansas Jayhawks in 1988 and the Detroit Pistons in 2004.
Calabria was a shooting guard on the Tar Heels’ 1993 championship team who went on to play international professional basketball for nearly 15 years. He retired from playing in 2010 and began a coaching career the following year.
McAdoo left North Carolina in 2014 after three seasons with the Tar Heels. He averaged 11.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and one assist in 108 college games.
Many fans remember a freshman McAdoo as the Tar Heels’ sixth man on the 2011-12 team that featured Kendall Marshall, Reggie Bullock, Harrison Barnes, John Henson and Tyler Zeller. McAdoo averaged 6.1 points and 3.9 points as a reserve, and played an important role in the 2012 NCAA Tournament after injuries to Marshall and Henson.
After going undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft, McAdoo played stints of basketball with the Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers and their respective G-League affiliates. He was most recently a member of the Los Angeles Clippers’ G-League affiliate, the Agua Caliente Clippers.
Just one day prior to the announcement of McAdoo’s move to international basketball, former UNC point guard Marcus Paige signed on to play with KK Partizan Belgrade of the Basketball League of Serbia.
