When the New York Giants take the field on Sunday afternoon, there will be two familiar faces for UNC football fans on the offensive line.

If you’re keeping an eye on former UNC football players in the NFL this weekend, we suggest that you take some time to watch the New York Giants game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Why?

Well, two former Tar Heels will be making their first NFL starts among the team’s offensive line unit.

According to Dan Duggan of The Athletic, Joshua Ezeudu was taking pre-game snaps at left tackle while Marcus McKethan was handling the right guard position. It appears that both players will be starting their first NFL contests on Sunday afternoon.

With all-pro left tackle Andrew Thomas ruled out, Ezeudu will be making his first NFL start at the positon. Meanwhile, McKethan, who missed the entire 2022 season due to a torn ACL, will essentially be making his true NFL debut after seeing just two special teams snaps in the team’s season opener a week ago.

The Giants struggled mightily offensively against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, as the offensive line was a major issue in the blowout loss. Although the Giants don’t want their star left tackle to be sidelined, it’s a great opportunity for Ezeudu to showcase his value as a potential plug among one of the lineman spots moving forward.

McKethan provides a fresh face on the offensive line. The Giants are hopeful that the unit on the field this week can do a better job of not only protecting Daniel Jones, but also help pave the way for the team’s running game to get going.
