Tar Heels Tidbits 2/14: UNC wins fourth-straight, NCAA attendance down and more

Tar Heels Tibits are back for this Valentine’s Day and the North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team is on a roll.
The Tar Heels just won their fourth-straight game by beating Notre Dame in the Dean E. Smith Center on Monday night, completing a tough stretch in a five-day stretch.
UNC is now back in line for a double-bye in the ACC Tournament with just four conference games left on the schedule.
But the UNC men’s basketball team wasn’t the only program in the news.
There was plenty on some former Tar Heels in the NBA, UNC’s football team, the baseball team and much more.
Here’s what’s trending in the latest Tar Heels Tidbits for Feb. 14, 2018.
Basketball
- As we mentioned before, UNC won their fourth-straight game by beating Notre Dame.
- The win marked a new milestone for head coach Roy Williams. He became just the fourth coach ever to reach this milestone.
- Ross Martin of Inside Carolina dropped some interesting nuggets about both Theo Pinson and Kenny Williams’ production.
- UNC juniors Stephanie Watts and Destinee Walker are OUT for the remainder of the season. A tough loss for the Tar Heels.

Baseball
- The Diamond Heels begin the season in two days. They are projected as favorites in the Coastal Division.

Softball

- The Tar Heels have opened the season 3-1 with their only loss coming against Providence.
Tennis
- The UNC women’s tennis team won another Indoor Championship by beating Pepperdine on Monday.
- The indoor title is the third in program history, all coming within the last six years. That’s tied for third-most with Georgia.
- Sara Daavettila picked up some honors following the Tar Heels’ latest title.
