Armando Bacot set to attend Duke, North Carolina game

Class of 2019 five-star prospect Armando Bacot is set to attend the Duke and North Carolina game in Chapel Hill on Thursday night.

Bacot will be part of a raucous, sold out crowd at the Dean Smith Center for the first of two matchups this season between the bitter rivals. It’s the second time that Bacot has been on the North Carolina campus in as many weeks, having taken an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill in late January.

The Tobacco Road rivalry game will be of particular interest to Bacot, who’s been offered scholarships by both Duke and North Carolina. His options are nearly limitless, though, having received scholarship offers from a multitude of big name programs including Clemson, Florida State, Kansas, Louisville, Miami, Oregon, Tennessee, UCLA, Villanova and Virginia.

Bacot is a 6-foot-10, 240-pound big man out of Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond, Virginia that has tremendous size, skill and athleticism. He plays both the power forward and center positions, but will provide a lot of upside for any team at either position.

He’s currently the No. 20 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He’s ranked top-10 in the country at the center position, and the No. 1 prospect in the state of Virginia.

Tar Heels’ fans won’t be surprised to learn that most recruiting analysts’ early predictions are that Bacot will end up eight miles down the road in Durham with the Blue Devils. It’s still fairly early in his recruitment, though, and anything can happen.
