UNC Recruiting: Tar Heels making progress with five-star prospect?
No. 2 prospect in class of 2019 has North Carolina on his radar
On the eve of five-star shooting guard Romeo Langford’s official visit to North Carolina, another elite prospect announced that the Tar Heels are one of the three programs that he’s be in contact with the most.
James Wiseman, the No. 2 player in the class of 2019, told Rivals that Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina are the three schools that he’s been talking to the most.

This comes just one day after 2019’s top prospect, Vernon Carey, announced his interest in playing basketball at North Carolina and plans to visit Chapel Hill in the near future.
And although it’s early in Wiseman’s recruitment, it’s a good sign that North Carolina is on his short list of programs that are making the biggest impact.
"“The tradition, and really their system, I like a lot,” Wiseman said of the Tar Heels. “They are telling me a lot about their big man development. I am going to try and visit up there, most likely in a few weeks.”"
Wiseman, a 6-foot-11, 210-pound power forward, is currently ranked second in the class of 2019, behind only Carey, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Wiseman possesses a versatile skill set and a 7-foot-5-inch wingspan. He’s got tremendous athleticism and the ability to shoot from all over the court. He can play either post position, and runs the floor well for a player of his size.
The elite big man currently holds offers from more than a dozen schools, including Alabama, Arizona, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas and Vanderbilt.
And although Duke is yet to offer Wiseman a scholarship, he does have a relationship with Blue Devils’ assistant coach Jon Scheyer, who has been recruiting him. There appears to be mutual interest between the two parties, and it’s safe to assume that an offer will come sooner or later.

For now, though, the front-runners in his recruitment appear to be the three aforementioned blue bloods. And according to Rivals’ Corey Evans, the Wildcats have the edge over the Jayhawks and Tar Heels.
