A five-star recruit might be leaning towards UNC according to some predictions

While the North Carolina Tar Heels prepare for the upcoming season by opening up practice on Monday, they are still in the middle of recruiting.

The latest news on a five-star prospect is good for the Tar Heels.

The Tar Heels appear to be the trending pick for small forward Nassir Little, despite the big story going on in college basketball.

Little was down to Arizona, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina and Duke. He was believed to be headed to Arizona but with the recent FBI investigation and rumors swirling about the Wildcats, it appears they as well as Miami are out of the running.

This story says that Little was a recruit mentioned in the FBI investigation. Little’s family released a statement denying that any school offered them cash for Nassir to attend.

Now two major recruiting sites think the Tar Heels are the favorites.

First, 247 Sports Crystal Ball prediction has shifted to the Tar Heels recently, going from 77 percent at the beginning of October to 100 percent on Oct. 3.

The Crystal Ball isn’t a guarantee for UNC but many experts believe the Tar Heels are the landing spot now.

Then there is Rivals.

Corey Evans wrote about Little’s recruitment in his latest mailbag and called Georgia Tech and UNC the two favorites to land Little.

Evans cited that Little is “loyal” and that could keep the Yellow Jackets in it as they’ve been with him since very early in his recruiting process. He also suggests that the Tar Heels “may have the lead” in his recruitment.

The five-star recruit is a composite top 10 player in the 2018 class and would be a big get for Roy Williams who already has Coby White and Rechon Black signed.

UNC is looking to reload after winning it all in 2017 and the 2018 class could be the one that puts them over the top again.

Little hasn’t revealed when he will announce his decision but stay tuned as things are starting to heat up.
